At Marketing King, we take pride in our ability to create visually appealing and effective designs that help our clients stand out in their markets. Recently, we had the opportunity to work on a faceplate design for Schumacher’s SOSBoost product line, and we want to share some insights and highlights of our graphic design process and outcome.
First, let’s introduce the SOSBoost product line. Schumacher is a leading manufacturer of automotive accessories and tools, and their SOSBoost series consists of portable jump starters that can revive dead batteries in cars, trucks, boats, and other vehicles. The SOSBoost jump starters come in various models with different power capacities and features, but they share the same ruggedness, reliability, and convenience that drivers need in emergencies.
Our task was to create a faceplate design that could showcase the SOSBoost series’ key benefits and features while maintaining a consistent brand image for Schumacher. The faceplate would be used as a front cover for the retail packaging of the SOSBoost jump starters, as well as for online listings and promotional materials.
To start the design process, we analyzed the market and the competition for portable jump starters. We also reviewed Schumacher’s existing branding and visual identity, including its logo, color palette, typography, and imagery. We wanted to create a faceplate design that would appeal to the target audience of the SOSBoost series, which includes drivers, outdoor enthusiasts, and DIYers who value quality, performance, and convenience.
We then brainstormed several concepts and sketches for the faceplate design, considering different layouts, graphics, and copywriting options. We wanted to create a design that could communicate the following key benefits and features of the SOSBoost series.
